IT'S PERSONAL: HOW MUNDANE AND TRIVIAL OFF-STAGE INTERACTIONS OF JKT48 SHAPE AUDIENCE INTEREST

JKT48 has a devoted fanbase that continues to support the group through its many changes, both new members and the graduation of others. While fans enjoy seeing the idols perform on stage, their desire for more content led to a demand for off-stage material focusing on their daily lives and interactions with fans.

CHALLENGE

Given the glorification tendencies of idol groups, the challenge lay in crafting a livestream program that not only catered to the dedicated, long-term fans but also resonated with potential new audiences

SOLUTION

Nunggu Bedug was designed to combat boredom during Ramadan through chit-chat sessions, mini-games, and fan interactions. Despite the fasting period, these activities did not pose a challenge for the members, as they broke their fast with Alangsari Cool, echoing the message of #CoolLuarDalam (Cool Inside Out). This initiative allowed fans to connect with their idols on a deeper level, fostering a sense of camaraderie and engagement beyond the stage performances.
